TEACHINGS ON BARDO & BUDDHA AMITABHA INITIATION

Life is a continuous fluctuation of birth, death and transition. In every moment of our experience, between the birth and fading of thoughts and emotions, there are empty spaces where the primordial nature of the mind manifests. The Tibetan Book of the Dead (Bardo Tödröl) is not only about death, but also about the whole life of the individual.

In this seminar, after the teachings on the Bardo – the intermediate state between death and rebirth – the initiation of Amithaba, the Buddha of Infinite Light residing in the Pure Land Sukavati will be conferred, whose door opens at the moment of death and can be entered by those who have lived with a pure heart.

ONLY IN FRENCH 🇫🇷

Les samedis 7 et 14 mai de 14h à 16h :

Chenrezig (skr. Avalokiteshvara), le Bodhisattva d’amour-compassion.

Intervenant : Marie Madeleine Schmitt.

Commemoration of venerable Khenchen Shérab G. Amipa Rinpoché, par Khenpo Tashi Sangpo Lag

Thursday 14 April from 19:15 to 21:00

We practice together the Guruyoga ritual Lama Chöpa* in remembrance of our beloved ven. Khenchen Sherab Gyaltsen Amipa (1931 – 2014), the founder of our Dharma centres in Europe.

In your heart, a spacious sky of love,
clouds of compassion fully gather,
with the rain of activity falling down,
you ripen the harvest of ones to be tamed.
Khenchen Sherab Gyaltsen Amipa, at your feet I bow!

(adapted from Milarepa’s Vajra song.)

On this day we will light many butterlamps in various monasteries in India and Tibet and also in our centers, and will offer food to the Ngöndro practitioners in Bodhgaya/India.

Monthly session by Khenpo Tashi Sangpo Lag

Friday 22 April from 20:30 to 22:00, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 April from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 16:00

Guruyoga, blessings and teachings

In Guruyoga, the essential point to understand is that all the Buddhas are of one taste in the dharmakaya. The dharmakaya is the absolute Guru, and this is all the Buddhas. This is the very heart of Guruyoga practice. Without understanding this there’s no way to practice Guruyoga comfortably. Even if we do the visualizations, it won’t be completely satisfactory because we’ll be unclear as to how Buddha is the embodiment of the Guru and the Guru is the embodiment of Buddha. However, it will be extremely clear if we understand the very heart of Guruyoga, that the Guru is Buddha and Buddha is the Guru.

THE EXTRAORDINARY LIFE OF JETSUN MILAREPA, PART 2

Milarepa, famous in the ten directions for attaining enlightenment in a single lifetime and for his songs of realisation, is one of Tibet’s most beloved historical figures. His biography, which shows the intensity of his life’s processes, is a great teaching in itself. The extraordinary events in his life unfolded from suffering to black magic, from regret to harsh purification, from rigorous asceticism to the bliss of realisation. Having reached the pinnacle of the path, he instructs and inspires all beings he encounters with the poetic beauty of his vajra chants, through which he teaches all aspects of the Dharma.

Buddha taught the Nama-Samgiti to his disciple Vajrapani and his wrathful retinue in order to lead them to enlightenment. Although it is only a short text of 167 verses, it summarizes all the Buddha’s teachings. As the Buddha said: “It is the chief clarification of words. It is the nondual reality. Therefore, all sentient beings should definitely study and recite the Mañjushri-Nama-Samgiti.”
